The Challenge

Julian is a 47 year-old company director living in Cheshire. He is a keen mountain biker and hiker so tends to wear outdoor gear. Because he works in manufacturing he has a scruffy work wardrobe so when he has to attend a corporate event or a wedding he's lost, which is why he came to Busting Diva for help.

The Solution

Busting Diva's personal shoppers jumped on the case, assessing Julian's preferences, lifestyle and personal style. He received advice and recommendations on how to shop, his personal style, accessorising, and how to make the most of his assets. A complete head-to-toe outfit was put together along with advice on how to wear it on the day.

The Result

“The girls were absolutely fantastic. I have never in my life had any kind of styling - I like being scruffy, so finding a look for me to go to a wedding in, a look that I still felt comfortable in, was a real challenge - but they rose to it.

They marched me into a shop and gave me things I'd never even think of wearing to try on - and explained the fit of things to me too. I tend to wear baggy things because I don't like to look too skinny - but Danièle and Sarah talked me into showing off my frame rather than hiding it and I felt really confident and comfortable with the look they found for me.

I saved money too, spending less than I would have done by myself. They really took who I am into account when working with me, so they didn't try to get me into a shirt and tie for example and the jacket that they recommended had a slightly (deliberately) 'crumpled' look to it and an almost denim like finish so although I looked completely different to usual - the outfit reflected my personality still. I didn't feel as if I was just being given the same advice and outfit as anyone else with my shape. They were more personal than that with their approach.

I really enjoyed the whole experience. I would certainly do it again as it's practically the only time I've actually enjoyed shopping for clothes.”
