Dressing in the Dark : Amy Winehouse

We certainly agree that sprucing up one's image can give a new lease on life however the new hairdo Amy Winehouse is sporting forced us to make comment!

From a stylist's point of view, Amy Winehouse would always have been considered a 'challenge' - clearly she was attempting to make a style statement with the beehive hairdo and dark eyeliner however these never did suit her features and in fact drew attention in a negative way.

However the new blonde hairdo is a lot worse. We were stunned and horrified to find out she actually had a hairdresser create this style and do the colour for her. The colour makes her skin look sallow and blotchy and to pull this look off she should take care with her foundation and find a complementary blusher to help add colour back to her face. The beehive style never did suit her oblong face shape however we gave a certain allowance for the fact that it was clearly a statement. This new style also adds height to the top whereas Amy's face is very long so in order to balance this out, needs a fringe and volume at the sides.

Her so-called 'signature eyeliner'... look honey, just ditch it! It's no longer interesting, in fact just makes her look like she got dressed in the dark... talking about getting dressed... well, let's leave her clothes for another time...
