Pelvic Floor Exercises by Jimmy Choo!

On February 4, 2008 the BBC reported that a study says wearing high heels may boost your sex life by improving your pelvic floor muscles. All of us divas were extremely pleased to hear this fabulous news after all those years of training our feet and legs to wear our darling heels!

The article says:

High HeelsDr Maria Cerruto... said her study of 66 women under 50 found that those who held their foot at a 15 degree angle to the ground - the equivalent of a two inch heel - had as good posture as those who wore flat shoes, and crucially showed less electrical activity in their pelvic muscles.

This suggested the muscles were at an optimum position, which could well improve their strength and ability to contract.

The pelvic floor muscles are an essential component of the female body. As well as assisting sexual performance and satisfaction, they provide vital support to the pelvic organs, which include the bladder, bowels and uterus.

But they often weaken after pregnancy and childbirth, and as the woman gets older. There are exercises to strengthen them, but Dr Cerruto hopes her findings may eliminate the need for these.

Accessories and shoes in particular are an excellent way of showing off your personality whilst still wearing whatever 'uniform' you need to fit in and feel most comfortable. Therefore finding the best style of shoes for you - whether they be high cowboy boots or dainty stilettos - is essential. A fashion styling session can help with this, and can also help find colours which work for your wardrobe. The colour of shoes will add a splash... an illustration of your personality - for instance leopard skin gives an impression of cheeky naughtiness!

Psychology of Colour

When it comes to colour there is a whole psychology behind it, see below for a few examples (or have a colour consultation to determine what your colour preferences reveal!).

Red - This single most dynamic and passionate colour symbolises heat, fire, blood, warmth, power and courage. Those who select red can be aggressive, impulsive and strive for success. If red is your colour, your desire to experience the fullness of life leads to constant activity. Red people are achievers, competitive and daring. They are exciting, they want all life has to offer and they usually want it now! Since they crave so much excitement however, routine can drive them crazy. The most emotionally intense colour, red stimulates a faster heartbeat, elevates blood pressure and respiratory rate. And of course, red is the colour of love.

Red clothing gets noticed but can make the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme colour, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red clothing can be uplifting and convey power and energy.

Yellow - Yellow exudes warmth, inspiration and vitality, and is the happiest of all colours. Yellow signifies communication, enlightenment, and spirituality. Yellow people are optimistic, original and creative. They love challenge and are interested in everything. It represents playfulness, light, warmth and an easygoing attitude toward life and is as inviting as a warm, sunny day. If you're a yellow lover, you are a reliable friend and confidant and usually have a sunny disposition.

Yellow is like sunlight - you want it around you because it feels good, but you don't want it to be in your eye! Yellow enhances concentration and speeds metabolism, and when used in small amounts, produces sensations of brightness and warmth. While it is considered an optimistic colour, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies cry more. It is the most difficult colour for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused.

Purple - The colour of luxury indicates sensuality, passion and depth of feeling. If you like purple, you tend to be unique, highly sensitive and observant. Creative and artistically talented, you tend to have a complex personality. The purple person is perplexing and perceptive. Generous and charming, purple lovers are very sensitive and easily hurt. They have a tendency to be vain and moody. Purple people are easy to live with but hard to know. They are sentimental, romantic, and nostalgic. The colour of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also the colour of passion, romance and femininity.

Pink - Universally representing caring and sharing, pink indicates a strong personality. The affectionate and concerned individual prefers pink. Gently, you offer love, attention and nurturing to those in distress. They are charming, talented and probably romantic. Friendly and sweet with a tendency to be innocent and a little naïve, pink people wear their emotions on their sleeves. Research suggested that pink makes people calm and soft hearted.

Pink can appear to be very girlie and sickly sweet. To counteract this, introduce hints of dark charcoal or black to your clothing or interior schemes.
