Men go shopping with the intent of buying specific items whereas women tend to wander around until something catches their eye. Women actually enjoy the whole experience of shopping, comparing across ranges or discovering a little clothing gem that is bound to change their lives! But for men the object of the exercise is to get out of the store as quickly as possible with the item crossed off their list and sanity intact. We've some advice for the boys in our newsletter this month and because Autumn is fast approaching we've also rounded up some fabulous beauty tips to meet it head on. Enjoy! |
top-to-toe beauty tips from the team...We've called on the expertise of our make artists and hair stylists to bring you a round up of top seasonal tips. Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society. but do men hate shopping?
It's a commonly held belief, particularly by women, that men do hate shopping. But a new poll of 110,000 single British men carried out by dating website loopylove.com found that 54 per cent didn't mind it - if they were on their own or with friends. That still leaves a whopping 46 per cent that aren't keen as well as the married and partnered guys out there. And just because you may not mind shopping doesn't mean to say you'll know what to buy! In our experience many men are positively phobic when it comes to clothes shopping although they're quite at home selecting the weekly grocery shop or browsing the CDs and gadgets. But it's a simple fact that clothes do matter and do define who we are so for those men with more than naked ambition there's our Fashion Styling & Personal Shopping For Men. Meet Sarah Gilfillan - our fashion stylist specialising in menswear and celebrities... |
meet sarah
Sarah's passion for fashion began at the tender age of 12 when she and her friends would get together, dress-up and instantly record the results on a temperamental Polaroid camera. She graduated to a slightly off-centre world of window dressing via her mother's dress agency in rural Sussex. This set her in good stead for her cash-lean years when she trawled the charity shops in search of clothing gems that would sparkle to her touch with customisation. Eventually she hit the bright lights of the big smoke and hit on the concept of her dream job - to be a stylist. Being a bit of a tomboy herself, she's particularly drawn to menswear and the little details that mean a lot. Sarah has been working as a freelance menswear stylist on photo shoots for the past 10 years. She is a contributing Fashion Editor to Loaded Fashion and has contributed to Attitude and Sky magazines too. As well as working on various fashion-based TV programmes, she has also dressed Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy, and boyband A1. She's now landed a plum job as fashion editor of adrenalin magazine (skate/surf/snowboarding) and plans to inject it with her progressive take on styling. Twice a year she jets off to warmer climes to hang out with male models on a beach, under the pretext of working for a longstanding catalogue client! Her interests include yoga, Lindy Hop dancing, knitting, watching films and learning to speak Italian. At Busting Diva she's man's best friend - bellissimo! View our Fashion Services For Men. |
